About the Item

A charming pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and ormolu tazzas. Each tazza is raised by a most elegant triangular shaped ormolu base with beautiful scrolled acanthus leaf feet and a lovely wrap around interlocking and foliate band at the circular mottled socle shaped pedestal support. At the center are three charming richly chased cherubs draped in wonderfully executed cloaks holding hands, one with a dagger, another posing with his legs crossed. The striking ormolu bowl above displays exceptional intricately detailed foliate designs and is finished on the inside with a lovely central rosette.
