About the Item
A large vase designed by Carl-Harry Stålhane at Rörstrand in 1959, it´s 47 cm (18.8") tall, 7 cm (2.8") in diameter and it´s in excellent condition except from some minor crazings and scratches in the glaze. This is a unique vase only made in one copy as you can see of the signature. Since it is a unique vase it is hand-thrown and the neck is not perfectly straight.
Carl-Harry Stålhane is one of the top names when it comes to midcentury Scandinavian Ceramics. He was the artistic director of Rörstrand from 1950 until 1973. His sheer and elegant stoneware vases from the 1950s with speckled eggshell-like and harfur glazes in muted shades have received a marked increase in demand in recent years and are often included in international interiors and collection. His artworks are represented at MoMA in New York as well as Victorian and Albert Museum in London.
