About the Item

A vintage French ceramic vase by Vallauris, handcrafted around the 1960s in the famed French village. This sculptural pottery piece, in the form of a vase, features smooth, sweeping curves paired with organically shaped double handles—a distinctive brutalist style for which Vallauris pottery is both renowned and highly prized. This smooth, organic form finished in a deep, glossy brown glaze, contrasted by a central pool of luminous turquoise that highlights the body of the vase. This striking interplay of bold tones enhances the fluidity of the design, seamlessly merging function and artistry—making it equally compelling as a mid-century decorative vase or a sculptural statement piece. In very good condition for its age and use, with only a small 2mm glaze chip on the inner curve of one handle, possibly a firing flaw. Dimensions: 20 cm wide, 12.5 cm deep, 32 cm tall.
