About the Item

Classic Van Briggle vase circa 1980's or thereabouts. It' has a chic presence with a dreamy glaze with a lovely variation in coloring from dusty cobalt to teal turquoise. The surface has indentations that are unique and southwestern in style. Top opening measures 3 inches, the bottom 2.5 inches. "Van Briggle pottery was founded in Colorado Springs in 1899 by Artus Van Briggle, who developed a distinctive matte glaze inspired by Chinese and Japanese ceramics and the Art Nouveau style. After his death in 1904, his wife Anne continued the company, which became known for award-winning art pottery and was housed in a memorial building they designed. The company produced pottery for over a century, continuing the founder's Artistic vision until its final closure in 2012."
