About

Extraordinary very large contemporary Japanese decorative porcelain vase, extremely intricately hand painted in vivid blue, turquoise and purple on a gracefully shaped very large baluster body, a signed masterpiece by highly celebrated, award-winning master porcelain artist in polychrome overgrazed enamelling. Wisteria has a significant place in Japanese culture and is a very popular theme in Japanese art and poetry. The whole story of a famous Kabuki dance moves around wisteria, as a symbol of love. It is also the symbol of longevity and many Japanese have chosen wisteria as their family crest. This master artist's signature style is a refreshing interpretation of traditional polychrome enamels decorating porcelain over clear glaze. With his deep fascination with nature he creates an exhilarating landscape on porcelain. His painstaking “drip painting” technique is designed to bring a subtly raised feel to flowers expressed in bold vibrant colors that create an exhilarating landscape on ceramic that create a sense of movement and life. This artist's profile is available upon request. This exquisite large hand painted ceramic vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 18 in D 11.5 in.
