Vintage Art Deco Vase Probably by WMF in Style of Claudius Linossier, 1920-1930
About the Item
Vintage Art Deco vase is a beautiful and rare original decorative object realized between the 1920s and the 1930s, in a limited numbered edition.
Original copper carved with sponging decoration in silver and gold.
Realized probably by WMF.
Made in Germany.
Numbered 96/558 on the base.
Very good conditions: slightly signs of aging.
Interesting and beautiful decorative object realized by the WMF factory in Germany. The work is carved to the shoulder and is decorated with gold and silver sponging decorations all over the surface. The work presents a very interesting surface because of the different shades of the color. The work has been realized in limited edition: it is the number 96 of 558 pieces. This work has been produced by WMF (originally Würtemburgische Machin Fabrik AG), originally founded in 1853 in Geislingen an der Steige, Germany. In 1880 there was an amalgamation of Straub & Sohn and A Ritter & Co. and the factory became famous for domestic and art metalware with an appropriate change of name to Würtemburgische Metallwaren Fabrik AG.
The work has been realized in the typical Claudius Linosser style.
Claudius Linossier (1893 - 1953) was Danish artist and medalist that worked as Art Deco artist. He worked silver and copper before working in particular the colorful and patinated aspects of metals, especially through the colors red and black. His modifications are often geometric, including triangles and diamonds. It subsequently carried out some sculptures and paintings, including self-portraits, it does not expose. His medals are also art deco. They consist of portraits, with a style more and more stripped.
