Vintage Conical Copper Vase by Max Zeher, Germany, 1960s

About the Item

Conical copper vase is an original decorative object realized in the 1960s. Original copper manufact. Created by Max Zeher. Made in Germany. The "Z" of Max Zeher is impressed on the base. Good conditions. Original design vase realized in copper-driven. The work presents a conical wall with elaborate structural decoration all-over the surface. This work has been realized by Max Zehrer (1904, Würzburg - 1977); Zeher was a precious metals and silversmith artist. He spent his apprenticeship in the goldsmith Max Blesser in Würzburg. During this time he continued his education in evening classes of the Polytechnic Central Association in drawing and modeling.From 1928-1932 he attended the School of Applied Arts in Halle and completed his apprenticeship with the master craftsman's examination for the silversmith. Back in Würzburg he set up his own workshop. In 1958 he was awarded the gold medal of the Bavarian State Prize. In 1969 Zehrer became a member of the Hätzfelder rafting guild.
