About the Item

Handcrafted vintage pottery ceramic vase with a rounded body and a narrow neck. This piece seems to have been influenced by the Japanese wabi-sabi style pottery featuring simplicity, imperfection and naturalness. The round base with the very narrow opening has a potential to have been a traditional tokkuri to house a "go" of sake. There are no makers marks or signatures so the date of origin and the place of origin are unknown. It is still a stunning piece of ceramic pottery. Wabi-Sabi pottery embraces imperfections, asymmetry and naturalness. It values simplicity and the beauty found in the handmade, often featuring earthy tones, textures and subtle flaws that tell a story. This ceramic vase holds all of that. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.
