Willem Visser Sphinx Maastricht 'V6' Studio Pottery Vase, 1950s

About the Item

A beautiful ‘V6’ vase designed by Willem Visser (1915-1977) for Sphinx Maastricht. A beautiful slender and elegant vase with carved decor on the neck. Great size and appearance. Timeless in color and design. Due to the timeless qualities of the vase, the mid-century design looks elegant and modern and will fit many interior styles, from mid-century modern to a more classic style. Willem Dirk Cornelis Visser worked as a ceramic artist and designer. For many years he led the ceramics department of Sphinx Maastricht - formerly Petrus Regout. He was educated by famous pottery artist Bert Nienhuis and together with Nienhuis he designed a fountain for the world exhibition in Paris. Great vintage condition. Signed ‘V6’ at the bottom.
