Garden vase in the shape of a fish in red earth from Vallauris, glazes in muted tones and patterns evoking oriental decorative ceramics.
Graduated of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Reims, Jean-Claude Malarmey joined his classmate Robert Perot in 1954 at Vallauris to work for a time in his studio "Le Vieux Moulin" before creating his own workshop in 1957.

Graduated of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Reims, Jean-Claude Malarmey joined his classmate Robert Perot in 1954 at Vallauris to work for a time in his studio "Le Vieux Moulin" before creating his own workshop in 1957.
While the creation of the period was massively oriented towards extravagant shapes and bright colors, the artist's expression is distinguished by its elegance and great sobriety and with an exceptional mastery of cooking over a wood fire.
This piece is in amazing condition and underneath signed : "Malarmey Vallauris".
