Zwiesel Rare Vintage Mid-Century Modern Purple Smoked Bubble Glass Bottle Vase

About the Item

Stunning signed and dated 1980s vintage bottle, decanter shaped vase by Max Gangkofner for the Glasfachschule Zwiesel, Bavaria, Germany. The narrow necked vase was designed by Max Gangkofner in 1981 and this example was made in 1982. A really accomplished design - similar to designs by Fulvio Bianconi for Venini with the band (a Macchie) of purple, almost amethyst coloured glass with a controlled bubble (Bullicante) pattern, trapped within the smoked gray / grey body of the vessel. Wonderful vintage Mid-Century Modern style German glass - just as good as any piece of Venetian Murano glass producer of that time. Great size and a very rare piece of glass. Measurements are - 27.3cm tall by 14cm wide
