About
A beautiful ashtray or bowl of a shaded red color with gold infusions; the bowl has four depressions on the rim for resting cigarettes; it was produced in a small glassworks in Murano (Italy) between 1960 and 1963: the ashtray was obtained through a particular process of blowing and fusion: in the shapeless mass of molten glass were added several natural pigments until it reached the coloring desired by the artist , it was provided for a cooling of the mass, which was then put back into the artistic furnace at very high temperature until it was almost brought to a liquid state, at that time, judged right to the expert eye of the craftsman, he himself has provided to sprinkle the glass mass of tiny specks of gold that are dispersed in the glass semi-liquid, at that point the craftsman has gradually decreased the temperature and has modeled by hand the piece in the desired form with his tools fascinating; a small object realized with a magic mastery and an incomparable ability by a great artisan of Murano.
