A fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver sparrow beak style creamers, boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. These impressive antique Victorian sterling silver cream jugs have a plain baluster sparrow beak style form onto a circular spreading foot. The body of each jug is embellished to one side with two impressive bright cut engraved crests, a stag's head erased and a thistle erect, leaved below the motto ‘Yvery’. The jugs are fitted with opposing scroll handles, each ornamented with a subtle plain thumb piece. These impressive antique cream jugs have sparrow beak style spouts. These cream jugs are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior and push fit catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer’s mark ‘William Angus & Sons Silversmiths, 27 & 29 Lord Street, Liverpool’. This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver cafe´ au lait set consists of a coffee jug and hot milk jug, each crafted in the Gothic style. The coffee jug and hot milk jug have a plain hexagonal baluster shaped form onto a paneled spreading foot. The surface of each piece is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a demi-lion holding an axe. Each piece is fitted with the original hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with an impressive sterling silver paneled finial. The cover of each jug incorporates an applied incurved bracket and elevated scrolling thumbpiece. The milk jug and coffee jug retain the original handles overlaid with interwoven bamboo, strategically interlaced to produce a segmented braided design.
