Betjemanns Patent Locking Spirit / Whisky Decanter c.1890
About the Item
A stunning hefty cut glass decanter in the ever-popular hobnail design with cantered corners with a horizontal cut, the underside withe a star cut.
The neck incorporates a pouring spout and holds the original stopper. The stopper is kept locked with the the Betjemmans Patent lock with the original key; the key is turned and the lock is released to allow the stopper to be removed allowing access to the precious contents.
A stunning example in excellent condition measuring 3 1/2" square x 9 3/4" tall to top of stopper.
Late Victorian in era, dating to c.1890.
