About the Item

It measures 5 3/4'' by 3 3/4'' by 7/8'' in depth, weighs 6 troy ounces (186.6 grams), and bears hallmarks as shown. The Elgin American Manufacturing Company was a subsidiary of the Illinois Watchase Company, founded in 1889 by Eppenstein Brothers Company. Manufacturer of match boxes, vanity sets, photo and cigarette cases, and other novelties, some of their pieces are in the permanent collection of the Elgin History Museum. Please feel free to ask us any questions, and please see our other listings. NO published price will beat ours. We hand polish all items before shipping them out, but if there is interest for a professional polishing and/or engraving removal, we can take care of that for an additional charge and with delayed shipping.
