About the Item

In all the years I have been in this business, I have never seen a salver / tray of this size, it's the most impressive centrepiece by the creme de la creme of silversmith's, "Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co." of London. Dating to the beginning of the twentieth century, the tray stands on four scroll legs and the centre is engraved with a very regal heraldic crest, I believe for the Lister family. Below the crest is the motto "Retinens vestigia famae" meaning: "Still treading the footsteps of an honourable ancestry". The underside is signed by the famous silversmith at 112 Regent Street, London; also marked with a trade mark, Regent Plate. A rare and impressive piece in excellent condition spanning 22 1/2" x 2 1/2". Item: 43947 Free worldwide registered airmail directly from the UK.
