Tortoiseshell Murano glass & brass decanter, attributed to Barovier Toso.
Italy, 1950s
A beautiful example, fitted with its original 2-inch cast brass and cork stopper, the bottle is hand blown in a deep rich earth tones to resemble tortoise shell. This work is highly detailed, with the applied Murnao glass mimicking the 'marginal scutes' of a turtle. Unsigned.
