A stoneware sugar bowl in a putty color with fine smear glaze. The double pistol grip handles flank the impressed floral and shell motif covering the surface of the bowl and cover. Unmarked. Staffordshire, England, circa 1830.

    An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver sugar bowl; an addition to our dining silverware collection This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian silver sugar bowl, in sterling standard, has a compressed circular rounded form. The incurved body of this antique silver sugar bowl is embellished with impressive chased scrolling leaf decoration. One side of the bowl is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a talbot's head collared. The upper rim is encompassed with a chased leaf decorated border. This Victorian sterling silver bowl is fitted with two exceptional chased decorated C scroll handles with further scrolling leaf decoration enveloping the sockets and a floral motif to each handpiece. The bowl is supported by a circular spreading foot ornamented with chased floral and foliate decoration. This exceptional English silver sugar bowl retains the original gilded interior.
