19th Century French Carved Alabaster Compote Centerpiece with Dolphins
About the Item
Decorate a dining table or a console with this elegant antique centrepiece. Created in France circa 1880 and made of alabaster, the compote stands on an integral triangular base. It features a oval dish with scalloped edges and dressed with side handles; the center bowl is supported by three dolphin figure legs. The variegated marble piece of art is in excellent condition and adorn a rich patinated finish; versatile, it could also be used as a vide-poche in an entry.
