Rare and Early Russel Wright Aluminum Vessel

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

About

Early modernist spun aluminum vessel with tilting lid designed by Russel Wright for Metware. Originally marketed as a combination bun warmer, ice bucket, and fruit bowl. Strong machine age styling to this utilitarian object. Knobs of heat resistant Bakelite like "Mykroy." This seldom seen example retains its original box, hang tag, and inner basket. An example of this piece can be found in the Brooklyn Museum's holdings of early design dating from 1930-1935. As the hang tag states "as practical as it is beautiful".
