Small Antique Round Grand Tour Specimen Marble Table Top

About the Item

A fine antique Grand Tour table top. In black slate with specimen marble inlay to the top. With specimen including porphry, lapis, malachite, and marbles that we think are verde alpi green marble, lace agate, multicolor onyx, marble rosso levanto, jasper, breccia medicea marble, salome marble, rosso asiago, among others. Perfect as the top of a small side table or for contempoary use as a large trivet, cheese board, or serving tray. Simply a wonderful Grand Tour specimen marble top! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: Many of the inlaid marble pieces rest slightly proud of their neighboring pieces (so that one can feel slight ridges when you run your hand across the top). There are some splits to the inlaid pieces (as well as naturally occurring fissures here and there). There are noticeable scratches. There are a few rings of water damage from glasses that are only visible from the right angle and lighting. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Diameter: ca. 14 3/4 in. Height: ca. 1/2 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
