About the Item
The Glam Clam is a functional sculpture designed by Betony Vernon in 2021 and entirely handcrafted in Italy in ceramic from Faenza with the renowned mother-of-pearl glaze by Gatti. The shell sink and mirror were made of majolica. The forms are made by thumb mold cast. Majolica and painted in mother-of-pearl luster fixed by a final third firing at 720°.
The Glam Clam was part of the exhibition Les Flammes – the Age of Ceramics curated by Anne Dressen in the Musée d’Art Moderne of Paris and it was exhibited alongside Marcel Duchamp’s iconic Fountain (1917) and hundreds of other impactful works from past to present.
The Glam Clam 2021 Ceramic sink and mirror are sold as a set.
