About the Item

Gracefully posing dancer in blue costume: dark blue dotted bustier with light blue ruffled sleeves and short skirt in front with long, wide side parts with dark blue and yellow floral decoration slit at the back, holding these up backwards with arms outstretched and torso turned to the left, butterfly wing-like to both sides. On black flat oval base. This model is the more demure version of Goldscheider's successful model no. 7195, 'Beauty', which came on the market in two variants: once the body of the dancer leans to the left, the other time to the right. Model No. 8746 also features some modifications in the form of a redesigned skirt, which is closed at the front, and ruffles attached to the sleeves of the top. This alone makes the figure appear less frivolous and thus adapted to the taste of the 1940s. (Dechant/Goldscheider) Designed by Stephan DAKON (1904 - 1992), was one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory from 1924 until the mid-fifties.
