About the Item
Exquisite porcelain figurine of the 1930:
Aparte dancer in a tight-fitting dark blue costume with short trouser legs and ruff, gymnastic shoes on her feet, balancing on the ball of her right toe, throwing her left leg up to the front, turning her upper body to the side,
looking forwards, stretching her left arm backwards and holding a cloth spread out on the floor, which she is holding with her right arm bent in front of her body.
The figure rests on a black, stepped diamond-shaped base, artist's signature 'Lorenzl' on the underside.
Designed by Josef LORENZL (1892 - 1950), was an Austrian sculptor and ceramic modeler. His bronze statuettes often show graceful dancers with long legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl designed numerous ceramics for Friedrich Goldscheider and Keramos and was one of the most popular artists of Art Deco.
