About the Item
A stylish stoneware studio pottery square form Repeat ware dish by renowned studio potter Janet Leach (British, 1918-1997) dating from around 1960. The dish stands on a narrow unglazed foot with a slight recessed base with raised square formed edges. The dish is decorated with tenmoku glazes to the edge and centre with brown speckled stone colored glazes applied around the inside and underside edges. The dish was made at the Leach Pottery in St Ives and bears impressed pottery marks and personal marks to the lower edge and is also impressed REPEAT.
Provenance: from the collection of a private gentleman and originating from the UK art market.
