David Frith Abstract Decorated Stoneware Dish, 20th Century

$713.23

About

A stunning vintage British studio pottery dish by renowned potter David Frith and made at Brookhouse Pottery. This heavily potted stoneware plate shaped dish is of rounded form with a shallow recessed central well with a stylized decoration in brushed colored glazes with a brown and tenmoku glazed rim with colored trailing. With impressed pottery and makers marks to base. Provenance: The Ann Horlock Stringer Collection. Ann was married to Harry Horlock-Stringer (1927-2014), a potter, and both were passionate about studio pottery. Much of their collection was purchased from friends and also from the Craftsman Potters' Association ship, exhibitions and galleries.
