Late Georgian Porcelain Botanical Plate by H & R Daniel or S Alcock, circa 1830
About the Item
This is a very high quality, finely hand painted botanical plate, that we attribute to H & R Daniel or Samuel Alcock, Staffordshire Potteries, England and dating to the early 19th century late Georgian period, circa 1830.
This plate is well potted on a low foot, with a wavy moulded outer rim.
The plate is finely hand painted with a botanical specimen flower of a Hazel Nut branch in superb delicate colors within a good gilded C Scroll border with a light beige ground colour, having delicate hand gilded detail.
In summary, a most beautiful early plate with superb hand painted detail.
Attribution of ceramic pieces is always more difficult where the piece is unmarked but we judging by the style, shape and lack of any mark, we consider this to be an English , Staffordshire plate made by either H & R Daniel (c 1822-1846) or Samuel Alcock (c1822-1859).
