Carstens 1950s Vintage Midcentury Turquoise Black & Gold West German Vase

About the Item

Beautiful vintage midcentury West German vessel or vase by Carstens Tonnieshof made post war circa 1950s with a turquoise blue and black glaze with gold details and white lines of drip glaze. Perfect to have a pair for over the mantlepiece of a fireplace or surround or a dining room table. Great colours and design - although these were designed in the 1950s the design looks almost of an earlier period from around the 1930s. A very elegant form and color combination. Carstens Tonnieshof were one of the finest producers of West German Pottery from 1954 until 1984. They always produced impressive forms with equally impressive and experimental glazes. Model/shape number: 435-25.
