About the Item
Die Keramik-Etagere "Mars" ist Teil einer ganzen Etageren-Serie von CortoMagDelft und kann als herkömmliche Etagere zum Abstellen und Aufbewahren von Snacks, aber auch als Kuchen-, Schmuck- oder Schlüsselständer verwendet werden. Die Stabilität wird durch einen dünnen Metallstab gewährleistet, der durch ein Messingrohr abgedeckt ist. Jedes Keramikteil ist handgefertigt und handbemalt, engobiert und glasiert und daher waschbar (allerdings nicht in der Spülmaschine). Die besondere Technik, die wir für die Etageren entwickelt haben, bringt ein unterschiedliches Ergebnis mit sich: Jede Ebene der Etagere ist ein weiteres Einzelstück und kann daher nicht exakt reproduziert werden. Dadurch ergeben sich für jede Etagere leicht unterschiedliche Abmessungen. Nicht nur jede Form einer Etagere unterscheidet sich von einer anderen, auch die Handbemalung und Verglasung bleibt ein nicht reproduzierbares Verfahren: Nepturn hat ein anderes Farbdesign als die anderen Etageren.
Aufgrund der von uns verwendeten Tonbandtechnik ist ein Riss in der Keramikbodenplatte entstanden. Sie ist Teil des Objekts und hat keinen Einfluss auf die Solidität!

CortoMagDelft
We are CortoMagDelft – a small ceramic manufactory in Münster, the north-west of Germany. As a design duo (we are twin sisters!) we decided to found a company in 2020 in order to be able to re-theme everyday objects. Ceramics is no longer the only material we work with: For us, copper, glass and mosaics are an ideal extension of our beloved but still "down-to-earth" material clay. Each CortoMagDelft-object is unique, but we like to speak of them as "serial uniques", as there is always the possibility of reproducing this unique piece and creating a similar – usually even better! – result. All our Objket are functional and yet always artistic, as we see the synthesis of design and art as particularly important in the current design movement.
