A fine antique German Fayence scalloped bowl. Marked for the Höchst Porcelain Manufactory. With a gold wheel under crown mark. With a polychrome painted scene to the center of a lady and musician in a bucolic landscape setting framed by 4 Streublumen (or sprays of flowers) and a scalloped raised rim with purple & yellow decoration. Simply an extraordinarily rare piece of Höchst Fayence pottery! Date: 19th Century or earlier Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no cracks or repairs. Condition Details: There is some fritting and glaze losses to the edge of the bowl, some glaze skips to the base, and some fine and tight crazing to the glaze. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Höchst Marks: With a painted gold wheel under crown mark.
