Delft, Porceleyne Fles Applique after a Painting by E. Verveer, 1903

About the Item

Delft, Porceleyne Fles Applique after a Painting by E. Verveer, made 1903 A Porceleyne Fles delft hand painted applique after a painting by Elchanon Leonardus Verveer. . The applique is executed in Delft blue color and depicts an old sailor on the coast, the border is moulded in relief. There are two painter’s initials for T.A.B. van Lingen who worked at the Porceleyne fles from 1893-1945, and from another painter who I could not determinate. Established in 1653, De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles is the only remaining delft blue pottery factory from the 17th century. The measurements are 35.5 cm (14”) x 40 cm (16”) and this applique is in very good condition. There are some irregularities in the glaze, especially on the back. This occurred during production. I carefully package all items in a double-box and use first class packaging material.
