Delft, Porceleyne Fles Tile Panel after a Painting by Du Chattel

About the Item

A Porceleyne Fles delft hand painted large tile panel after a painting by Du Chattel. The tile panel is executed in sepia color. The panel consists of 20 tiles and is painted by Porceleyne fles factory, circa 1900. There is a painter’s mark but I have not yet been able to identify the painter. Established in 1653, De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles is the only remaining delft blue pottery factory from the 17th century. This atmospheric tile panel is painted after a 19th century painting “Gardeners boat at sunset” of Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel, (1856-1917). He was a Dutch impressionist painter and one of a group of artist who lived in The Hague. He was known for the many landscapes paintings, many were also used for productions of tiles and plaques at the Porceleyne Fles.  Overall size including original frame: 95 x 79.5 cm (35.4”x 31.3”). Each tile measures: 15 x 15 cm. (6 square) Total weight is 20.2 KG. (45 Lb) Both frame as tiles are in good condition. Light traces of use consistent with its age. I carefully package all items in a double-box and use first class packaging material.
