About the Item
Handpainted (beaker) vase richly decorated with floral motif in original Delft blue colour. This vase is part of a cupboard set ( translated kaststel in Dutch) which is a matched set of vases intended for display on top of, or in, a wooded cupboard, cabinet or bookcase. The English term garniture (derived from the French) is also used to mean a cupboard set. The meaning of garniture underscores their decorative nature. A set is usually made up of one covered vase and two beaker vases. In Holland these are usually displayed on top of the cupboard. On this website you can also purchase the complete set of 2 beaker vases and one covered vase/jar. The vase comes with a certificate of authenticity.
