About
A Rare, Large, and Early Dutch Delftware vase with chinoiserie decoration.
Origine: Delft, The Netherlands
Date: Early 18th century
Workshop: Unknown, but looking at the quality of the painting and glaze, probably De Metaale Pot.
The vase is decorated in the Chinese Kangxi style, with four cartouches, with two different scenes. The first scene is a floral landscape design with rocks, plants, flowers, birds, and insects. The Second is a landscape design with buildings and figures. In between the main scenes we see cartouches with a playing boy, ornaments, dogs, and leaves.
