About the Item
Product Description:
The four deep plates on offer here have been designed by Robert Picault (1919 - 2000). Picault was born in the east of Paris in Vincennes, just outside the Boulevard Périphérique. After studying at the school of applied sciences he founded his own ceramics business together with two schoolfriends. The business was shortlived and Picault started a business on his own. His work gained in popularity and his strategy selling his products with the help of large department stores meant a lot of people got familiar with his work.
His works breath a sort of ancientness, by their form, use of color and patterns the plates make you believe they are far older then they in fact are. I would recommend to eat from these plates your homemade soup with clear broth such that you can enjoy the decoration the plate has to offer.
Product Condition:
All plates are in good condition. There is some discoloration present on the back of one of the plates and there is a small chip on the back of that same plate as well (visible on one of the pictures).
