Wedgwood English Majolica Basketweave and Tortoiseshell Plate, Date Marked 1874

About the Item

From Wedgwood, an earthenware majolica glazed plate, signed and date marked 1874. A green, brown and yellow tortoiseshell glazed center is bordered by eight yellow basketweave inner panels contained by soft gray raised rimming, bound at intervals with pink crosses. A gorgeous crisp mold with beautiful coloring. 9.25 in. Diameter x .75 in. height Marked: Impressed Wedgwood with the date code WPC, the C for the year 1874. In incredible antique condition.
