About the Item
Here is a wonderful, very heavy (1.8kg unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass ashtray bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Barbini, unmarked, but this design can be found online, with their factory label. In a stunning combination of opaque pale pink or peach glass encased in black glass, with lots of fine gold leaf in the glass on the inside / top.

Size
Measures approx 3 inches tall by 7 inches in diameter at widest point.
Condition
Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of tiny nicks to the rim, shown in final pictures.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
