Beaded Raindrop EAPG Nonflint Glass Cake Stand, circa 1890s

About the Item

An Early American Pressed Glass pedestal cake stand, in a Beaded Raindrop pattern, circa 1890 -1900. Made of nonflint, clear molded glass, this tall and heavy stand has a thick pedestal stem with a central starburst pattern. The top surface also shows a starburst pattern in the center with a heavy beaded rim. A sturdy, graduated circular footing. Not to be confused with Imperial Candlewick, which came many years later, this is a Candlewick-type pattern sometimes called ‘Banded Raindrop’ or ‘Cole’. 10.5 inches in diameter x 6.75 inches H In very good condition, the expected minor wear to the top surface due to use.
