Bohemian blown & cased spa glass, 1825-1845

About the Item

Clear blown spa glass with a cut white enamel overlay and three ruby flashed panels etched with trophies. The cup rests on a pedestal base with circular foot. Spa glasses were created for visitors to the mineral water spas to drink the spring waters which were believed to be restorative. The spring head fountain at these spas was usually hosted in a Classical or Gothic garden pavilion with multiple spouts from which water was taken in these glasses. Bohemia, 1825-1845.
