German Fraternity Beer Stein, circa 1900

About the Item

For sale is an original beer stein. It belongs to a German fraternity recognizable by the inscription "Ehre, Freundschaft, Vaterland" (honor, friendship, fatherland) and FSv on the pewter lid, of which the S stands for "Schlagen" which means fencing. The glass body has a circular shape with protruding corners. A young man in black coat, green hat, holding a wine glass and a Southern German town have been hand painted on. The pewter lid has been engraved "Cäsar s./l. Veibburschen Hektor." and has a beautifully embellished knob. The object is in excellent vintage condition. Measurements: Height (with/without lid): 15.5cm/11.8cm Diameter (without handle): 9cm Width (with handle): 13.5cm
