Loetz Art Nouveau Vase Opal with Black Etched Decor, J. Hoffmann, Austria, 1912

About the Item

Vase on a round stand, slightly bulging towards the top with a slightly flared, flat rim of the mouth, opal-colored glass underlay with black overlay, high-cut decor with bellflowers and geometric lines on a satined background. Design on behalf of the Austrian Museum for Art and Industry, Vienna. Manufactory: Loetz, Lostermuehle, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary Shape: Series II Produktion number PN 8126 (J. Hoffmann), year 1912 Decor: Colorless glass with opal white underlay, model-blown, base and mouth rim ground and polished flat, black overlay, decor etched in two steps, surface finely structured like hoarfrost. Dating of manufacture: around 1912 Size: height: 11.6 cm / 4.56 in diameter: 8.0 cm / 3.14 in Condition: very well maintained condition.
