MVM Cappellin & C. was founded by Giacomo Cappellin in 1925. He had previously worked with Paolo Venini and in 1921 had founded the Cappellin Venini & C. although the partnership was short lived. MVM Cappellin glassworks were based at the Palazzo da Mula in Murano with Vittorio Zecchin joining as artistic director in 1926.
