About the Item

Superb Theresienthal matched pair of large enamelled flower wine glasses, each has a green foot and shaped green stem with different flower patterns to the large bowl. These are well documented in the Theresienthal book - the shape for both is Rhomer 1565 - first produced in 1902 and the designs; one is decor 1723/1 and the other 1723/5 both first produced in 1903. Flower glasses were a big thing in the first decade of the 20th century -they were designed so that when you drank out of the glass it looked like you were drinking out of a flower - sets were always made up of mixed flowers -like this pair Along with Meyr's Neffe and Fritz Heckert, Theresienthal was on of the truly great turn of the century (19th / 20th) drinking glass makers -they still exist today.
