20th Century Art Deco Style Sterling Silver Canteen of Cutlery for Eight Persons

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver flatware service for eight persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional vintage Elizabeth II straight sterling silver flatware set for eight persons have been crafted in the Glamis pattern. The plain tapering surface of each handle is embellished with a convex ribbed design to the terminal. This 20th century silver flatware set consists of 76 pieces: Basic service: 8 table knives 8 table forks 8 table spoons 8 soup spoons 8 salad forks 8 dessert knives 8 dessert forks 8 dessert spoons 8 teaspoons Additional pieces: 4 Serving spoons The fundamental components of this vintage service have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmiths Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd in 1956, apart from the table and dessert knives, which are replacements***. This impressive antique sterling silver canteen is supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduce tarnishing. "Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year. Glamis pattern is a private design made by Copper Brothers & Sons Ltd. Predominately all antique silver canteens have replacement knives as the originals have not stood the test of time. Condition This antique silver flatware service is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The ornamentation to each piece is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.     An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage sterling silver Plain Pine pattern flatware service for twelve persons, in the Art Deco style; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional vintage George VI silver flatware service for 12 persons have been crafted in the Plain Pine pattern. The plain tapering handle of each piece is embellished with Art Deco style geometric panelled decoration with a stepped-down top. The posterior surface of each handle is ornamented with a triangular panel to the terminal. The original sterling silver forks have three tines/prongs; this is a fine feature of the service. This vintage Art Deco flatware set consists of 43 pieces: The components of this service have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith and flatware maker Ollivant & Botsford Ltd between 1937-1941; the pieces will have been crafted in less years but due to the hallmarking system the items are struck with the date letters u and y. The anterior surface of each fork and spoon handle features a pip to the terminal.
