Brass Tagine

About the Item

Large handcrafted brass tagine with cone cover and a brass final. Beautiful decorative hand beaten Ottoman designs across its surface. Measure: 3ft. The history of tagine dates back to the time of Harun al-Rashid, the fifth Abbasid Caliph. The earliest written records about the concept of cooking in a tagine appear in the famous One Thousand and One Nights, an Arabic-language story collection from the 9th century.
