About the Item

Mixed Silver Lot is an original group of decorative Art Déco objects realized by various artists in the 1920s. The group includes four pieces: an handle bowl by Georg Nilsson (H. 7 cm), a smaller bowl (H. 6.5 cm), a circular silver plate (Ø 29.5 cm) and a milk server (H. 13 cm). Produced by Gero. Made in Holland/Denmark. The set is in fair conditions: partly slightly scratched. Beautiful mixed silver lot that includes different object; the tray presents a circular base with relief scattered flowers and an hammered decoration. There is also a silver cream server with a hinged lid and two silver bowls with circular handles. One of these has been realized by Georg Nilson (1888-1975). Nilsson, a Dane, was working for Georg Jensen when in 1925, he left to design at Gero and his designs reflect the Jensen influence. The object has been realized by Gero, which was founded in 1912 as Gerofabriek in Zeist, Holland. Nilsson worked primarily at the Danish branch of Gero. The Great Depression caused the Danish branch to close in 1933.
