Set of Four George III Salt Cellars Made in London by Solomon Hougham, 1805

About the Item

A very unusual set of four George III Salt Cellars made in London in 1805 by Solomon Hougham. The Salt Cellars are modelled in a very unusual design and each stands on four unusual stepped legs. The plain bodies have a baluster form and the rim is decorated with gadrooning. The interiors are finely gilded and each has a crisp set of hallmarks on the base. The Cellars are in quite excellent condition. Additional information: Length: 3 inches, 7.5 cm. Width: 2.2 inches, 5.5 cm. Height: 1.9 inches, 4.75 cm.
