About the Item

A bright and colourful Art Nouveau Majolica pitcher made by Frie Onnaing in northern France in c. 1880. This design is known as Coligny, and features a combination of groups of hydrangea and intertwined vines in art nouveau designs across the body, all glazed with a distinctive colour pallet. The interior is finished with a deep fuchsia glaze, giving the piece a strong colourful contrast. The base is stamped with ‘758’ and ‘Frie O’ together with the company shield. It is in excellent condition and a great example of Art Nouveau design.
