Chinese Export Porcelain Pseudo Tobacco Leaf With Ducks Large Dish and Drainer

Chinese Export Porcelain Pseudo Tobacco Leaf Large Dish and Drainer,
Circa 1765-75
The oval Chinese Export deep dish is fully painted with a variation of the Tobacco Leaf pattern with two Mandarin ducks amongst foliage and on either side of a blue watery pond. There are several different hibiscuses depicted too.
The strainer or drainer has a central oval panel with the same design and with eight groupings of lotus flowers around the rim. Between the central panel and the rim are thirty-two series of three drainage holes radiating from the central panel.
Ducks for the Chinese were a symbol of fidelity.
