English Copeland Spode Blue and White Platter

About the Item

English Copeland Spode blue and white platter, the border inside the gilded edge has a variety of butterflies along with stylized flowers and foliage; the main body features typical oriental motifs- trees, flowers, bridge, small and large pagodas . The back has swirled ridges designed to create friction on a surface to keep it from sliding. The square Copeland Spode mark is well defined . This platter has a rich blue color and is in very good condition with slight gilding loss which is to be expected for its age.
